BOTANY: The Vegan Alchemist Flagship Store

Beauty, Health, and Wellness

2018

In 2018 Botany decided to open its flagship store in The Pearl Doha, Qatar. Since we were the original brand creators, we were commissioned to creatively direct, manage and implement the brand into the physical space. At this stage Botany had only existed as an online store, and therefore this was a significant development in the brand's success

We went back to the drawing table and reviewed the PlayBook initially created for the brand in 2016. This was our starting point to understand how the brand would play in a physical space, rather than a digital world. We prepared briefs upon a site visit to the location and an understanding of the scope of work and challenges for the interior design. We discussed the project with creative partners in Finland: Kobra and Korpijärvi Johansson.

Working with the creative partners, we established a route for the potential look and feel of the space. The interior design concept explored earthy tones with light, fun and approachable characteristics. Green and brown colours from the Botany colour palette were introduced, and additional complementary colours gave all applications a soft and friendly feel. The ingredients used throughout Botany products played a significant role in the inspiration. Warm materials and plants gave this route a welcoming and natural feel.

During the interior design stages, we also developed a store layout that efficiently utilised the space without making it seem cluttered.

Since this was the first physical location for Botany, we worked extensively on developing a strategy for the brand to be implemented into the environment. This was applied through exterior signage, window displays, product displays, branded merchandise, printed applications, packaging and uniforms.
