On behalf of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture, we were tasked with thinking, conceptualising, and developing various small, medium and large events that can be implemented across the Kingdom. This mandate required the studying and alignment of the Saudi Vision 2030, the vision of the Ministry of Culture, and the policies relating to the development of the creative economy. We led and managed an independent team—in the role of Subject Matter Expert and Creative Director—of 2D and 3D designers, researchers, copywriters and translators to develop ideas and experiences that help create and enable a flourishing arts and culture scene that enriches lives, celebrates national identity and builds understanding between people. We were responsible for developing events and festival concepts for the Literature, Publication & Translation commission and the Visual Arts Commission. Our responsibility was to fully develop, conceptualise, strategise, visualise, prototype and produce all technical documentation and tenders for 125 events that the Saudi National Calendar Committee will implement on behalf of the Ministry of Culture. We worked in a quick and agile way to ensure that each week new ideas were presented, feedback was taken on board, and full project brief and concepts were submitted to stakeholders for implementation.
